Kazé Entertainment brings Lupin back to Germany!

Kazé Entertainment is bringing four classic Lupin III television specials to DVD and Blu-ray in Germany this February!

Releasing on February 18th, the set will include Voyage to Danger, Dragon of Doom, The Pursuit of Harimao's Treasure and The Secret of Twilight Gemini. These specials originally aired in Japan between 1993 - 1996.

At first, this seems like a bit of an odd selection for a box set release. There is a good reason as to why these films are seeing the light of day in Germany once again, though… they previously aired on MTV!

Our favourite thief had a rather brief run in Germany during the mid-2000’s.

During his run, the four mentioned TV specials featured on the channel, however in a rather unusual format… Each one was split up into episodic chunks, and aired over the course of several weeks. Now, each special is now releasing in full - with no awkward waits and gaps in-between “episodes”!

The box set includes the original Japanese audio complete with German subtitles, and the original MTV German audio dub. No other special features are mentioned - however, Kazé Entertainment has a reputation for creating decent quality sets in Germany, so it is relatively safe to expect a high quality release.

You can pre-order the DVD version here, and the slightly more expensive Blu-ray version here.

Big thanks once again to our good friend Marty in France for bringing this news to our attention!
