Fujiko Mine series gets new release in U.K.!

The Woman Called Fujiko Mine is getting a new collectors edition Blu-ray release in the United Kingdom, courtesy of All The Anime!

The popular 2012 spin-off series previously released on DVD and Blu-ray in the United Kingdom back in September 2013, under the Manga Entertainment distribution label. Much like the North American FUNimation set, this edition has been out of stock for a while now - so a new release from All The Anime is welcome.

This new collectors set, which has an online pre-order price of £34.99, comes with rigid case packaging and a thirty-six page art booklet. The booklet contains character bios, concept art, an interview with Sayo Yamamoto (Director), an interview with Takeshi Koike (Character Designer & Animation Director) and an interview with Interview with Mari Okada (Story Editor & Screenwriter).

In addition, the two-disc set also contains various bonus video features, including English voice actor commentaries, footage from the cast reunion, trailers, a clean opening and clean endings.

Keen U.K. based fans such as myself will be able to place a pre-order for the set from 5pm on Friday 23rd April until Thursday 29th April 2021. The release date is currently set for 14th June 2021, but please be aware that if you do order a copy on release, the price is due to increase back up to the RRP of £59.99.

Big thanks to TheSpine9 for the heads up!

More and more Lupin is releasing outside of Japan as of late, and it’s a very exciting time for fans around the globe as a result!

It may simply be co-incidence, as All The Anime now appear to handle the majority of Lupin III releases in the United Kingdom, but as the rumored next series looks to be set in London (at least in part) - could the franchise be getting a push over in the land of breakfast tea and English muffins?

Regardless, a new edition of The Woman Called Fujiko Mine in the U.K. to go alongside the recently released Discotek Media one is most welcome - especially since the previous Manga set is now out of print.

The limited time pre-order window for the set is rather curious. I would imagine that rather than the team behind it expecting it to sell out, instead, it is being produced in very limited quantities. If you are looking to get your hands on it - definitely ensure to place your order shortly after it goes up on April 23rd!

The United Kingdom is still due to receive both Part 5 and The First from All The Anime some time in the future. We can only hope they continue to push the series over here, and cannot wait to see what they get their hands on next!
