50th anniversary project confirmed for 2021!

The official Japanese website for Lupin III has been given a facelift to celebrate the shows 50th anniversary!

The site now contains a comprehensive timeline of all works in the franchise, from the original pilot film up to the highly anticipated new 50th anniversary project!

TMS Entertainment have shown another small teaser for said new project, which is now confirmed to be releasing in 2021!

While not directly confirmed - going by a blurb on the TMS Expo 2021 mini-site, this is now sounding like a brand new television series.

The updated image, shown below, sees a green jacketed Lupin squaring off with a shadowy figure in London, United Kingdom. The teaser has similar vibes to that of the Part IV and Part 5 TV series’ initial reveal, which both received key artwork featuring Lupin in a new European locale ahead of the full announcement.

Who could this figure be and what adventure await the gang in the United Kingdom? Will Lupin finally meet his grandfathers match - a descendent of the terribly originally named Herlock Sholmes?!

More information on the 50th anniversary project is due to drop at Anime Japan 2021 later this weekend - although going by the rather tame teaser here, we wouldn’t expect to be learning too much about it just yet.

If you’re a fan of looking at Lupin’s butt though, we hope you enjoy the new image! Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
