Gallery: Lupin III: The First

Takashi Yamazaki's Lupin III: The First has helped to create a huge buzz of excitement for the Lupin franchise.

In Japan, although sceptical at first, audiences rated the film highly once it released in theatres during the December of 2019. It topped the charts during its opening weekend, and even ended up with a nomination for “Animation of the Year” by Japan’s Academy Awards.

Although it hasn’t raked in hundreds of millions at the box office, for a first feature length 3D animated film to star Lupin and the gang, Lupin III: The First appears to be considered a success.

TMS and NTV clearly have big plans, as it is soon to be localised for Italy, Spain, France, The Philippines, Brazil and Taiwan (at time of writing). It will likely receive an announcement for English speaking territories at some point soon.

Feel free to browse through some of the latest screen shots from the film in the gallery below, and let us know your thoughts on Lupin’s first venture into 3D animation by leaving a comment at the bottom of the aritcle.
