Princess of the Breeze is also coming to Blu-ray in the U.S!
Oh boy, here we go.
The 24th Lupin III television special, Princess of the Breeze is releasing on Blu-ray in the United States during 2024, courtesy of Discotek Media!
Announced during their New Year live-stream, the special joins Another Page as one of the last remaining ones without a home video release in the United States.
The Blu-ray, which is currently scheduled for 2024, comes with a HD version of the film, TV promo clips, liner notes, and the original Japanese audio dub with English subtitles. Pre-orders are due to open at both the Crunchyroll and Amazon online stores later this year.
Look - I think we all know, this special is not great. Back when it first released, in 2013, fans were a little let down by the constant references to The Castle of Cagliostro, and of course, the diamond pooping baby. With that said, visually, Princess of the Breeze is quite a treat, with some nice animation and use of perspective. Despite the use of 3DCG during the car chase sequence, hardcore fans not familiar with the special may want to check it out on that merit alone. Just do not expect to come out of it with a new special for the top of your tier list - Another Page is a better shout, in that regard!
